Hakeem’s Client Testimonials
I went to Amy for some help before my wedding – it was supposed to be temporary. She became such an important part of my fitness routine that i kept going to see her and I can’t imagine not having her in my life. Her professionalism, positive energy, encouragement, knowledge, and sincere concern for my well-being and fitness journey is what makes her my biggest fan, my cheerleader, and my tough-love coach on days when I need a little pep talk. Amy is the trainer we all want and need.
Before I began training with Amy the idea of a sit-up was a daunting one. Besides going down 3 dress sizes, In the past year since working with her, I’ve gotten over my fear of trying new things at the gym, have gained an immeasurable amount of strength, and now look forward to our sessions together. Amy’s commitment, drive, and amazing attitude towards training make me want to work harder to achieve my goals.
I have been a VIM member for several years and have been training with Amy for the past year. As a person with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), strength training is critical to my health, as well as my fitness. Amy is a wonderful trainer who took the initiative to learn about EDS and how to safely train something with EDS. She has gone further than I could have imagined in learning how to teach me to strengthen my joints without giving me exercises that subluxate and dislocate my joints. Since that was my physical therapy experience until I was diagnosed with EDS at 19, I never thought strength training was something I could do without causing myself harm. Fortunately, Amy has taught me otherwise and I have significantly benefited from her guidance.
After months of telling everyone how amazing I think Amy is, I thought it was time I told someone in VIM management. When I first started training with Amy, I had been dealing with a shoulder injury for over two years. It kept me from working out the way I was used to. I initially wanted to do training to learn how to work out again within the limitations of my injury. This wasn’t good enough for Amy. Within a few weeks, my range of motion dramatically improved and I started gaining my strength back. She was so aware of what I needed to be doing. Amy takes the time to assess her clients’ issues and goals and create a program for each individual. She has incredible knowledge and body awareness. You can tell how much thought Amy puts into her sessions. I can’t express how transformative it has been to be able to use my arm again. Obviously there are physical improvements, but I also feel like myself again. I am so grateful that I found her.
